明天就是2016年總統大選暨立委選舉投票日，總統候選人的維安工作也進入最高規格。國民黨總統候選人朱立倫今天(15日)表示，他對台灣的治安和民主水準有信心，因此不打算穿防彈背心。
今天是2016年總統大選暨立委選舉投票日倒數最後一天，國安單位緊盯各總統候選人的安全，並建議候選人穿上防彈背心。民進黨總統候選人蔡英文就因為維安考量而改變造勢場合的進場動線，取消大進場，並穿上防彈背心。
國民黨總統候選人朱立倫14日晚間在高雄的造勢晚會仍採取大進場，並在今天上午表示，他對台灣的治安與民主有信心，所以不考慮穿上防彈背心。朱立倫說：『(原音)我對台灣治安很有信心，對我們民主水準也有信心，我沒有這樣的打算。』
媒體報導指出，面對台灣大選之後的變局，美國副國務卿布林肯(Antony Blinken)將前往北京會晤中國大陸國台辦主任張志軍，而美國前副國務卿伯恩斯(William Burns)也將到台灣與馬英九總統和新任總統當選人見面，傳遞美方的訊息。
對此，朱立倫表示，美國、大陸和全世界都希望兩岸和平、區域穩定，他如果當選總統，會讓各界放心，他呼籲選民做出明智選擇。
